About Atlas Palm Hatchery

We're poultry people who take our birds seriously.

A small specialty hatchery in Palm Bay, Florida, raising interesting backyard poultry, heritage breeds, and carefully planned breeding projects — one thoughtful hatch at a time.

We didn't set out to be a big commercial hatchery. We started, like a lot of backyard poultry folks, with a few birds we thought were beautiful — and a curiosity about how their traits pass down.

That curiosity turned into breeding groups, then breeding projects, then careful record-keeping. Today we raise small flocks of specialty and heritage birds in Palm Bay, Florida, and share healthy, well-started chicks, ducklings, poults, and hatching eggs with other people who care about where their birds come from.

We believe in transparency. When you buy a bird from us, you can see the breeding group it came from, the hatch it was part of, and — for our projects — the goals we're working toward. We won't pretend to be something we're not, and we won't make guarantees we can't back up.

The Atlas Palm Name

Where the Atlas Mountains meet the palms of Florida

The name Atlas Palm was born from a love of two worlds: the rugged Atlas Mountains of Morocco, where ancient traditions of animal husbandry stretch back generations, and the warm, subtropical landscape of Palm Bay, Florida, where palms sway and the growing season never ends.

In Morocco, the connection between keeper and bird is personal — small flocks, careful selection, and a deep respect for the animals. We bring that same philosophy to our hatchery in Florida: small, managed breeding groups, documented parentage, and a commitment to healthy, well-cared-for birds.

What we value

Our approach

Love of poultry

We genuinely love our birds. Every breed we keep is one we chose because it fascinated us.

Thoughtful breeding

We breed with intention — selecting for type, health, and temperament over volume.

Specialty & heritage

We focus on interesting, less-common breeds and heritage lines worth preserving.

Documenting genetics

We record our pairings, generations, and results — learning out loud as we go.

Healthy, well-managed flocks

Small flocks, clean housing, and daily attention keep our birds thriving.

Transparent projects

Our breeding projects are documented openly — you see the goals, the parents, and the progress.
